Well know local blues guitarist Richard Lullo along with James “ Corky” Tubbs and bassist Brian Robinson AND MYSELF are in rehearsals for upcoming events. This will be a great blues and Southern Rock band. Rehearsals have gone very well and look forward to playing out soon.

My friend and guitarist Bill Nelson (The Bill Nelson Band) along with bassist Paul Byron (Love it to death & CRASH) are re-joining as the Hot Rod Cowboys. Playing much of the forgotten hard rock of the 70’s. It will be a pleasure to work with Bill and Paul again. You can find some information and upcoming dates for the band at http://www.facebook.com/hotrodcowboys.

Had the pleasure of doing an interview with http://www.nocover.com/houston a syndicated online music publication talking about local and regional bands and talent. The interview can be found at: http://shar.es/Uwm3u Part of the interview is here. “Interview with Michael De Luco of Guitar Clone Odyssey Band Name: Guitar Clone Odyssey Members: Jeff "Spike" Wong, Michael DeLuco, and Patrick McClain Website: http://www.guitarcloneodyssey.com/ Event: Coming up in Houston, ready to play! NCH : Why are you called Guitar Clone Odyssey? M: Because of all the effects and the approach we have. Jeff uses a bunch of looping effects and clones himself playing on guitars and synthesizers. NCH : When did you all start playing together? M: About three years ago, at first it was Jeff and I. We played improvisation type fusion music - he also played bass but we needed a bassist to let Jeff switch guitars - we use lots of layering techniques and we found Pat who has been with us for a year and a half. There is a great chemistry in our band. NCH : What genre of music would you say it was? M : It is akin to progressive, fusion type music - jazz/rock - there are no vocals - it is all instrumental” - Caroline Ross, http://www.nocover.com/houston (Jan 30, 2014)

Recovering from surgery must faster than expected. Props to the surgeon and staff who worked on me. After nearly a month I am back on the kit ( with caution) and beginning to plan again. It does feel right at home.

December 18, 2013

Well after over 35+ years of playing the drum set and being a part of a working band, I am going to have to shut it down for a while I will have rotator cuff surgery to repair my wore out shoulder. Promise though I will be back with a vengeance.

2 August 2013 – Love it to Death

It has been a long journey and Love it to Death (The Alice Cooper Tribute Show) still moves forward. This year we will play our traditional Halloween show on October 31st. I imagine that on the day of the dead. After six years there will be a new cast of characters in the band. Myself and Paul Byron (aka Alice Cooper excluded). I would like to extend a warm welcome to John Lassen (Lead Guitar), Bill Nelson (Lead Guitar) and Mike Tinsley (bass guitar). The show will have a great supporting cast as usual in the likes of Dana Ridenour who plays an assorted group of acting roles like The whip girl in "Go To Hell" , the spoiled brat in " Wish I were born in Beverly Hills", the oriental spy lady in " Halo of Flies" and Hillary Clinton in "Elected. Also we have Jody Hickman aka Snakebite, would handles all snake handling duties, yeah that's right real boa constrictor. And executioner for those scenes. Gallows, electric chair etc. And as always my drum tech Donny Napier. Without his help I would be a pile of rubble after the show.

1 July 2013 – Sacred Ground

I have been asked to join Sacred Ground, which is a modern rock an alternative music band out of Houston Texas. I have decided to join the band. They are all great musicians, and have a unique sound of their own. I have never done alternative or modern rock before, so I considered this a challenge to learn and play. Of course I brought a long with me my long time (when I say long, I mean long, 25 years' worth) best friend and bassist Greg Norton. Greg and I make a solid rhythm section for the band. Members include David Mena (Lead guitar and vocals), Felix Munoz III (Guitars and vocals), Bruce Knutson (Lead vocals). We are also supported by Dave Stojan (sound engineer). Of course as always Donny Napier my drum tech.

A brief description of what we do is Rock Classics from the 70s, Metals of the 80s, Alternatives from the 90's, and mixing it up with today's modern rock music.

17 June 2013 – Light and Shade – Celebrating The Music of Led Zeppelin

I am truly honored to be asked to step in on drums for this band. I will be an understudy for the great John Douglas. John supports the big boys as their drum tech for the road duties. Drummers like Alex Van Halen of Van Halen, Joey Kramer of Aerosmith. John is currently in Japan supporting Alex Van Halen. As it turns out I will have the privilege of doing the first show with the band. Some very good friends of mine as well as incredible musicians are in the band. Darby Usey (lead vocals), Mike Lambert (guitars), Rob Jacobs (lead guitars), Hugo Rodriguez (bass) and Jeff Ball (Keyboards). These players are as professional as the come. The band has a very authentic Led Zeppelin sound and feel. I am very proud to be called a member.

15 Aug 2008 - Harder Beat Review

Love It To Death - Firewater, 7/4/08
A tribute band is more than just some guys onstage playing their favorite artist's songs. The really good ones put on a show and make you actually believe in the illusion they create. Houston's Alice Cooper tribute, Love It To Death, is by far one of the best tribute bands around. Paul Byron does a dead-on Alice Cooper impersonation. Every detail is perfect - from his voice and mannerisms to the authentic makeup, stage costumes and props. Mike Lambert (guitar), Rob Jacobs (guitar), Greg Norton (bass) and Mike DeLuco (drums) play each song flawlessly. LITD perform most of Cooper's biggest hits including "School's Out," "I'm Eighteen," "No More Mr. Nice Guy," "Billion Dollar Babies" and "Poison." They also do some killer deep album cuts like "Only Women Bleed," "Go To Hell" and "Lost In America." This band is as good as it gets. See them once, and you're guaranteed to pull out the old Alice Cooper albums the next day. (Andy Laudano)
